The Biblical plan of salvation:

  1. All men are sinners (Romans 3:23) - but God loves all, and wishes them to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4 ... and see Romans 10:17).
  2. We must believe. In God (Hebrews 11:6), and in His Son, Jesus Christ (1 John 5:11-13).
  3. Repent. Turn from our sinful ways to God's way (Acts 26:20; Romans 6:12-13 and :17-18).
  4. Confess our faith in Christ Jesus, publicly before others (Matthew 10:32-33).
  5. Be baptized. By full immersion (Greek - "baptizo" means "to immerse"; "to cover") - see also Romans 6:3-4; Acts 8:38-39. Baptism is where forgiveness of sins takes place (Acts 2:38; 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21). It is where we "put on Christ" (Galatians 3:27).
  6. Continue to follow faithfully, for the rest of our time on earth (Colossians 1:22-23).
